Scott Stricklin bull of the woods attitude will be tested. If it is Chip kelly he has chosen, I don't think Sticklin will get Chip Kelly to kiss his ass.
It is a novel approach to fire the coach every 2 3/4 years, to get better recruits, plus it throws off your foes when they have know idea what coach they will be up against
Make sure the next coach has no buy out. Getting a new coach every 3 year is going to get expensive. But, may be in the next 20 years one of the next 10 coaches can fool a QB in joining the Gators. I didn't know changing coaches every other year was the way to better recruiting
Hard for opponents to prepare against a team, when they have no Idea who the Gator coach will be.
Fire the coach every 23/4 years or lose the SEC East, how hovel. Is that a new recruiting ploy, who knew? May be in the next 10 to 30 years one of the 10 to 20 coaches can when the Sec East twice. Never mind a a top 10 recruiting class. For all those that are complaining about not winning, get used to it. Rebuilding every 3 years is not the way to the top. It will get worse before it gets better. What recruits want to play for a team that has no Idea how long the coach will be there. But, it is thinking out side the box, opponents will be thrown off, not knowing what coach they will show up to the next game.
True, Muschamp recruited, but did not develop theses recruits. Muschamp by far concentrated on defense. That is what a O.C. does. On the other hand coach Mc considers all aspects of the game and adapts game to the players. This is what a real head coach does.
Muschamp left the Gator's worse off than he when he got there. Muschamp left the offense neglected with little development. Now The Gator's the Gator's have what was lacking the past four years, a real head coach.
The O line will be better, for one reason- A real head coach. Something lacking the past four years.
Contrary to Muschamps sating that he left the Gators in great shape. what else could he have said. In truth muscham9 left the program worse off than when he took over. lax discipline led to much to many unsportsmen like conduct 15 yarders and to many silly drive killing penalties. Execution was inconcisisstant . Lastly the basics need to be coached from the start. Coach Mac will correct these fixables That Muschamp could not. The new staff will need some time to climb out of the hole That muschamp dug .
The only reason Muschamp didn't have a chance is because he didn't know that offense was part of the game.
Keep talkn' trash. The SEC NEVER FORGETS
Florida is abysmal at controlling there temper. Muscamp, left the Gators undisciplined. for four years. This is a prime example of what happens, when you play for four without a real head coach.
He set the program back four years plus what it will take a real coach to rebuild. The program is worse off than it was four years ago.
Why all the love for Muschump, he set back Gator football more than four years. 7 million for losing, he has no more need for luck. Also he will get a top DC job thanks to Foley's on the job training. I hope in the future, when the Gators are still a mid-pack team and Muschump is rolling in Gator money, you remember how bad he left this team.
Now you know what Gator fans have been for the last 4 years
Even if Florida does win the remainder of their games, I still don't see much improvement in coaching. Going back to a defense first philosophy, is not improvement. Still no improvement in player development. Still no improvement in player evaluation. Recruiting is still in question and I don't see that improving. Consistency has not improved. Lastly It is not all about just winning or losing, but how they have won or lost. You have to admit, Florida has only looked good in two games so far. Compared to two good games the remaining game play were ugly to dreadful. Muschamp may be a great DC, but as a head coach, he is less than clueless.
I understand the frustration of the fans, It is not, just losing, it is how we play. The fans see no changes to play or coach better and see no other way to get change. It is frustration from the same excuses and no actions to correct the complete brake down of the program.
You missed this one. Even though the Gator football program is in the gutter, we are winning titles in volleyball and Gymnastics. FSU can't say that.
Good analysis, the one aspect I have been harping about is exactly as you describe in what's cold. One more thing is excuses not results. Muschamp, stop telling me things are fixable, FIX 'EM.
Muschamp 5? SDS predicted Florida to go 7-5 and what Momentum from last year? I hope the Gators win more than expected, however I don't see Muschamp helping.
What about Florida and Southern Georgia
Even with a 4-8 record Florida out ranked FSU with a national championship.
With Muschamp playing head coach, Florida needs all of the breaks the can get.
It wasn't Driskel as mush as Muschamp's inept plan. He will be a lot better this year, if Muschamp stays out of Roper's business.
Glad to see Florida's Taylor on the list. Hopefully Roper can make up for Muschamp being head coach.
I'm a Gator fan and the press is being good to Florida. I don't have the same expectations. I just want to see the Gators competitive. As it stands now, no teams worry about playing the Gators. Muschamp must learn to be a head coach, not jus a D.C..
No if the gators could ge a real coach
Plenty of talent except at head coach.
