Matt Elam looks to be headed for his first action in a regular-season game since 2014.

The Baltimore Ravens announced Tuesday that the ex-Florida safety will be their choice to return from injured reserve. Elam suffered a knee injury that required surgery in the preseason, but he practiced with the team Tuesday and has three weeks to be added to the 53-man roster.

A biceps injury prevented him from playing in 2015, so the former first-round pick is probably itching to get back on the field. Elam played at Florida from 2010-2012, racking up 124 tackles with six interceptions and 13 passes defended.

During his short NFL tenure, Elam has 85 tackles, one forced fumble and one interception.
