Florida defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson has been the topic of conversation this week surrounding the SEC coaching carousel.

With Will Muschamp’s move to Auburn as the Tigers’ new defensive coordinator, Robinson’s named surfaced as a favorite to become Auburn’s defensive backs coach to rejoin Muschamp at his alma mater.

But no such decision has been made yet and Jim McElwain is working hard to keep Robinson on staff. Not only is Robinson presiding over what will probably be the SEC’s top secondary in 2015, but he’s one of Florida’s best recruiters and responsible for the all-important South Florida area.

History with Gators

Robinson was brought into Gainesville in 2011 when Will Muschamp was hired as head coach. The Gators’ defensive backs coach has been a dynamite recruiter for a program, but also one of the best coaches on staff. His secondaries have consistently been among the tops in the conference and in all of college football.

Since  joining the Gators in 2011, he’s had three defensive backs drafted in the NFL Draft and figures to have even more in the coming years with the likes of Vernon Hargreaves, Jalen Tabor and others bound for Sundays sooner rather than later.
