Florida picked up its first 2017 commitment and added a player for next year’s class on Friday night.

Deerfield Beach (Fla.) wide receiver Lavarus Tigner (6-foot-2, 160) and cornerback Aaron Robinson (6-1, 185) informed Gators coach Jim McElwain of their verbal decisions following Florida’s 7-on-7 camp.

Both players are considered three-star prospects according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.

“I’m blessed,” Tigner told 247Sports. “Some people are not able to get the same thing I got you know. Just keep going and sooner or later I will be here and be a Florida Gators.”

Robinson’s decision gives the Gators 16 commits in Florida’s 2016 class, ranked 11th in the country.
