In addition to losing defensive coordinator Geoff Collins to Temple this offseason and promoting Randy Shannon to the position, there has been a lot of turnover on Jim McElwain’s staff.

On Friday morning, the school announced the changes to two coach’s roles as well as what roles three new assistants will fill in 2017.

The new assignments, which the school announced in a press release, are as follows:

  • Chris Rumph – Co-Defensive Coordinator/Defensive Line
  • Tim Skipper – Assistant Coach, Linebackers
  • Corey Bell – Assistant Coach, Defensive Backs
  • Ja’Juan Seider – Assistant Coach, Running Backs
  • Brad Davis – Assistant Coach, Offensive Line

Bell, Seider and Davis are all new to the Florida program. Skipper, meanwhile, shifts from running backs coach to linebackers coach.

Due to Clemson’s reported interest in Rumph, Florida promoted him to co-defensive coordinator in addition to his current role as defensive line coach.

McElwain has put together quite a staff, which shows that he’s starting to come into his own in Gainesville. Whether that leads to a third-straight SEC East title in 2017, though, remains to be seen.
