Florida lost a commitment on Thursday from one of the state’s best junior college players in the class of 2018.

Deontai Williams, a 3-star safety out of Jacksonville, announced he was decommitting from the Gators due to the school’s new coaching staff.

Williams is rated as the No. 7 JUCO player in the state of Florida and is the nation’s No. 2 JUCO safety.

The 6-foot, 175-pound Trinity Christian Academy prospect also has an offer from Ole Miss that could possibly come in handy.

Williams didn’t announce he was committing to the Rebels, but Ole Miss is certainly down on depth at the moment.

“I know this will hurt many of the (Florida) fans, and I will burn some bridges,” Williams posted on Twitter. “But I have talked to my parents and many people that will influence me to make the best decision possible to set me up with the best success.”
