It won’t be too long until Florida finds out if all’s well that ends well with hometown QB Anthony Richardson.

The Eastside High School (Gainesville, Fla.) dual-threat quarterback committed to the Gators on July 28, 2018, during UF’s “Friday Night Lights” recruiting camp event. He backed off of that pledge, however, on Feb. 5, 2019 when Florida began heavily recruiting 4-star QB Carson Beck. As it turned out, Beck was using Florida’s interest to get Georgia’s attention and a UGA scholarship offer. On March 3, Beck committed to the Bulldogs.

With Beck out of the picture, the Gators have continued recruiting Richardson, who earned an invitation to The Opening finals. Since decommitting from the Gators, Richardson has told 247Sports that he still has “probably the best relationship” with Florida, but has interest in Penn State and plans on taking a visit to Michigan.

The Gators, Nittany Lions, Wolverines and others will find out soon enough which school will receive the Gainesville signal-caller’s commitment. Richardson tweeted Sunday that he’ll be announcing his college decision after Eastside wraps up spring ball.

Richardson is listed at 6-3, 230 pounds and rated 3-stars, No. 13 dual-threat quarterback, No. 73 Florida product and No. 485 recruit overall nationally on the 247Sports Composite.
