Florida maintained its momentum on the recruiting trail Friday when outside linebacker Ventrell Miller announced his commitment to the Gators over Twitter.

Miller, rated as a three-star prospect according to 247Sports’ composite rankings, is ranked as the country’s No. 38 outside linebacker for the class of 2017. The 6-foot, 227-pound athlete from Lakeland, Florida, received offers from a number of other SEC programs such as Missouri, Ole Miss, South Carolina and Vanderbilt. Miami (Fla.) also was being considered.

Miller’s announcement came shortly after defensive end Zachary Carter, a four-star talent from Tampa, committed to Florida as well.
