In a move that’s sure to please Kirk Cousins, Washington received a big boost to the coming season as Pro Bowl tight end Jordan Reed has been activated off the physically unable to perform (PUP) list the team announced Sunday.

This move was anticipated, at least from Reed’s perspective, as he admitted as much last week following a team practice.

“I expect to be out there next week,” Reed told reporters.

Reed has quickly developed into one of the Redskins best players in recent seasons, catching 153 passes for 1,638 yards and 17 touchdowns the last two years. Reed was a third round selection in the 2013 NFL Draft and is coming off his first Pro Bowl selection in the NFL.
