Florida’s linebacking unit is looking thin these days as Rayshad Jackson recently entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal and any fans holding out hope that Kylan Johnson would be returning for his senior season in Gainesville will have to move on.

That’s because Pitt just formally announced the addition of Johnson to Pat Narduzzi’s roster. Johnson is a graduate transfer and will be eligible immediately for the Panthers.

During his career in Gainesville, Johnson made 33 appearances and had nine starts while making 83 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and adding one sack.

“Kylan is a really smart player with a great nose for the football,” Narduzzi said following the team’s addition of Johnson. “He can play either outside linebacker position and is a great fit for our scheme. Kylan’s experience and athleticism will be immediate assets for our linebacker group.”
