Despite being cleared to return to practice after being found ‘not responsible’ in a school Title IX sexual assault investigation, Florida sophomore receiver Antonio Callaway has not officially been cleared to return for the Sept. 3 season opener against UMass.

With or without Jim McElwain’s public blessing, judging from a recent Twitter post by Callaway, the Gators’ best receiver plans to be on the field for the first game of the season:

As a true freshman in 2015, Callaway registered 35 catches for 678 yards and four touchdowns – including the game winner against Tennessee in the closing seconds of the game. With question marks all over the offense – including at quarterback, the offensive line and running back – Callaway’s return should help the Gators’ offense have at least one player to build around early in the season.
