Sophomore RB Jordan Cronkrite is transferring from Florida, according to a report by 247Sports.

The four-star Miami athlete signed as part of Jim McElwain’s first recruiting class in 2015. He rushed 44 times for 157 yards with three touchdowns as a freshman and 31 times for 145 yards with a touchdown as a sophomore.

Cronkrite was expected to play a more prominent role in UF’s running game this season. He was one of four running backs, along with Jordan Scarlett, Lamical Perine and Mark Thompson, used in a rotation through the first seven weeks of the season. In Week 9, however, he did not make the trip to Jacksonville for the Georgia game. At the time, McElwain said it was up to Cronkrite whether he remained with the team.

From the Georgia game forward, Florida began to work Scarlett as the feature back and Perine as the No. 2 ball-carrier, and noticeably less work for Cronkrite and Thompson.

As a recruit out of Westminster Christian School, Cronkrite was ranked the No. 16 athlete and the No. 34 prospect in the 2015 class by 247Sports Composite. He is reportedly looking to enroll at his new school in January.
