Florida senior defensive end Bryan Cox, Jr. suffered a thumb injury during pre-game warmups prior to the team’s 40-16 win over Missouri last week and the Gators fear he will miss the remainder of the 2016 season, per a report from 247Sports.

“I don’t know whether he’ll go again this year,” coach Jim McElwain said. “It’s totally up to see where the medical evidence and obviously where they are mentally as far as moving forward. We’d sure like to have him back but you never know.”

Cox, who is in his fifth year with UF, has 94 career tackles (20.0 for loss), 9.5 sacks and three forced fumbles in 32 total appearances. OurLads suggests that it will be sophomore Keivonnis Davis who will get the majority of playing time in his absence.
