SEC Network analyst Booger McFarland praised Florida’s defense during an appearance on Russillo and Kanell Thursday, claiming he’d pick the Gators starting 11 over any other defense in college football.

Florida currently ranks first among SEC teams in total defense with 129.7 yards allowed per game. The Gators also lead in passing defense (87.3 yards allowed), rushing defense (42.33) and scoring defense (4.7).

McFarland also noted he predicted Tennessee would win the East in preseason, but couldn’t pick against Florida in Saturday’s game.

On Sunday, the analyst shared his opinions of every SEC team on Twitter, which he does weekly. Despite losing starting quarterback Luke Del Rio, McFarland thinks the Florida offensive will be fine with replacement Austin Appleby.

The Gators look to their winning streak over the Vols to 12 games on Saturday. The matchup will air on CBS at 3:30 p.m. EST.
