We have yet another glorious weekend ahead of us with a ton of big time games. Once again, I’m gonna take a look at the quarterback with the toughest task.

While the Florida Gators offense has sputtered this season, it doesn’t get any breaks, playing against the Georgia Bulldogs this Saturday. The Bulldogs have suddenly been crushing people, especially on the defensive side of the ball. It looks like the players are all buying into defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt’s schemes.

Freshman QB Treon Harris will start against Georgia. I don’t think it will be a very fun afternoon for him and that Gators offense. After watching Harris play a few times this season, you can see that he definitely has talent. He’s a big kid with a big arm and can move around.

It will be interesting to see if the Gators show any pride this weekend and for the rest of the season, although I have no doubt they will. Things this season clearly haven’t gone according to plan, and the last time they took the field was one of the worst games I remember seeing the Gators play. If you look at that box score and see the recap of that game against Missouri, and you see the final score, you may get sick (if you’re a Gators fan).

It’s really tough to pinpoint where the blame should go, but in reality it falls on quarterback Jeff Driskel and coach Will Muschamp. The offense got off to a very hot start this season, scoring 65 points, and have since just sort of limped.

We’ll see what Harris can do as the undisputed starter this weekend. If he struggles, which is very possible, where do the Gators turn next?

I think that they’ve made the move to Harris and have no choice but to stick with him the remainder of the year. Experience is critical in the SEC and Florida is planning for the future. Harris could provide a much-needed spark to the Gators offense. But he is a freshman and playing against one of the more stingy defenses in college football the past few weeks.

I say Harris has the toughest task of any SEC quarterback this weekend.
