It’s a good thing for the Arizona Cardinals that preseason games don’t count, otherwise their decision to send K Phil Dawson in for a long field-goal attempt just before halftime of Saturday’s game against the Chicago Bears would look much worse.

With only seconds to go before halftime, the Cardinals attempted a 63-yard field goal, which Dawson didn’t have enough leg for. Waiting for the ball in the end zone was former Florida WR Deonte Thompson.

As you can see in the video below, Thompson did his best impression of Auburn’s legendary “Kick-Six” victory against Alabama, returning the missed field goal 109 yards for a touchdown:

Thompson played for the Gators from 2007 to 2011 and went undrafted in the 2012 NFL Draft. He spent his first three NFL seasons with the Baltimore Ravens and spent some time with Buffalo Bills in 2014 before landing with the Bears in 2015.

With plays like this under his belt, he may work his way into a bigger role for the team this fall.
