Florida rebounded from its upset loss to Kentucky last week with a 48-10 win over Colorado State.

Florida had no problem scoring points on Saturday, scoring on a blocked punt, a punt return, a 68-yard rushing TD and a 38-yd passing TD.

Mullen knows his team still has a lot of work to do, but he says at least his team can be happy this week.

“We have a lot of things to work on, and we get to do it this week with a smile on our face this week,” Mullen said.

“I’m somewhat even-keeled to be honest with you, I’m gonna enjoy the win, and I told the team this, I hate losing and I love winning. I think sometimes we are looking at the guys’ eyes and they are coming into this program whether they fear losing and they’re relieved by winning. You can’t be successful that way, you can’t win that way. You have to go so hard because you love winning.”

Mullen has continued to break Feleipe Franks into his new system, and he had a pretty good game today, completing 8-of-15 passes for 119 yards and two touchdowns.

“I think Feleipe settled down, did some good things, had some missed decisions again,” said Mullen. “It’s not like bad decisions, it’s just like ‘hey you missed this read.’ It’s only his third game and I know people get on him with this narrative of ‘oh he’s started all these games,’ not in our system he hasn’t. It’s his third game in our system.”

Florida was stifling on defense and forced three turnovers during the blowout. Mullen was excited about how different his squad looked this week compared to last week.

“Defensively, I think we were more physical. We only gave up 70 yards rushing, we created some sacks, bigger plays and won the turnover battle.”

Florida will now turn its focus to Tennessee, who they will face in Week 4 at Neyland Stadium.
