2014 Auburn vs Kansas State
After a bye week, the defending SEC champions traveled to Manhattan, Kan. to take on a Top 20-ranked Kansas State team.
It wasn’t pretty, but the Tigers battled and beat the Wildcats 20-14 in front of a hostile crowd at Bill Snyder Family Stadium.
The Auburn offense couldn’t get much of anything going all night, but made the plays it needed to when it had to. Its streak of 13 straight games with at least 200 rushing yards came to end, as the Tigers rushed for just 128 yards. However, quarterback Nick Marshall stepped up in the clutch after a first half which featured a few misfires and some bad drops by Auburn wideouts. Marshall ended up completing 17 of 30 passes for 231 yards.
Head coach Gus Malzahn praised both his team and the Wildcats saying that win will help the Tigers “grow up.”
