2014 Auburn vs Mississippi State

In a battle of two top-3 ranked teams, it was the Mississippi State Bulldogs (6-0) who prevailed over the Auburn Tigers (5-1).

Quarterback Dak Prescott was at it again for MSU, leading the Bulldogs on three scoring drives in the first quarter, thanks to some quick Auburn turnovers. The Heisman candidate punched in three total touchdowns in the win over Auburn and amassed 367 total yards.

Auburn’s slow start was too much for the Tigers to overcome. After falling to a 21-0 deficit in the first quarter, the Tigers started making their way back into the game, getting the score within eight points on two separate occasions. But in the end, Mississippi State fended off the defending SEC champions and pulled away with 10 consecutive points in the fourth quarter.

Mississippi State’s win over Auburn was the program’s third straight win over a top-10 ranked opponent.
