2014 Alabama vs LSU

Alabama escaped Baton Rouge with a 20-13 win, outlasting LSU in overtime. Senior receiver DeAndrew White hauled in the game-winning score on Alabama’s first possession of overtime, and the Crimson Tide stymied the Tigers attempt to tie it on their turn.

After being slowed to a crawl by LSU’s defense for most of the game, Blake Sims and the Crimson Tide offense got moving at just the right time. LSU broke a 10-10 tie with less than a minute to go on a field goal, following Alabama running back T.J. Yeldon fumbling near his own goal line. Alabama took over after LSU bounced its kickoff out of bounds and quickly moved their way 50 yards downfield for the tying field goal.

Sims was 20-of-45 for 209 yards and 2 touchdowns, while junior receiver Amari Cooper had 8 catches, 83 yards and a touchdown while surpassing Alabama single-season records for catches and receiving yards. LSU quarterback Anthony Jennings was just 8-of-26 for 76 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. Alabama and LSU combined for less than 600 yards of total offense in a defensive battle.
