2014 Clemson vs Georgia
Hello, Todd Gurley.
Georgia’s star junior running back made his presence felt against Clemson amassing 298 total yards and four total touchdowns in the 64th total meeting between the Bulldogs and the Tigers.
Gurley led the way offensively for the Bulldogs, but it was the second half adjustments by the Georgia defense under first-year coordinator Jeremy Pruitt that turned heads. It was an impressive turnaround from the first half in which they struggled. The Bulldogs’ defense allowed just one first down in the second half, and did not allow the Clemson offense to get any sort of rhythm going.
Georgia had lost its previously three marquee openers against Power Five opponents dating back to 2009, so the win was a welcome change for head coach Mark Richt, who has often been criticized for not winning “the big one” throughout his career.
