2014 Charleston Southern vs Vanderbilt

The Vanderbilt Commodores (2-5) held off a second half rally to defeat Charleston Southern 21-20 on Saturday. The Commodores held an 18-10 lead at halftime and allowed 10 unanswered points in the second half. The Commodores used two different quarterbacks, with Johnny McCrary throwing for 169 yards, a touchdown and an interception on 10-of-16 passing.

C.J. Duncan saw a season-best 119 yards and a touchdown on seven receptions. Tailback Ralph Webb was the only other player to record multiple receptions, with two for three yards. Webb also rushed for 56 yards on 15 carries.

Quarterback Wade Freebeck threw for 20 yards on 5-of-7 passing, but left early after hurting his hand. Patton Robinette and Stephen Rivers were both inactive for the game.
