2014 Furman vs South Carolina

It wasn’t the sexiest performance, but South Carolina snapped a two-game losing skid with a 41-10 win over Furman, the Gamecocks’ first victory in almost a month.

Anchored by 100-yard rushing performances from Mike Davis and David Williams, South Carolina never trailed and outgained the FCS Paladins, 548-302. Inept at forcing turnovers coming into the game, the Gamecocks defense notched a season-high three takeaways during coordinator Lorenzo Ward’s first game away from the sidelines inside the coaches box.

Senior quarterback Dylan Thompson bounced back from consecutive mediocre outings with 262 yards and two touchdowns. His scramble and 45-yard toss to Jerell Adams in the second quarter was the tight end’s first touchdown of the season.

The win moved Steve Spurrier to 51-0 all-time against non-Power 5 conference opponents.
