2014 Georgia vs Missouri
No Todd Gurley, no problem.
Georgia never let up against the Missouri Tigers, shutting out its SEC East rival 34-0.
It was the first game for the Bulldogs without their star running back, but true freshman Nick Chubb aptly filled the void in his first career start, carrying the ball 38 times for 143 yards and one touchdown.
The Georgia defense also came to play in Gurley’s absence. It was the first time ever they had ever shut out a ranked team on the road. Missouri quarterback Maty Mauk was uncomfortable all night, even when he was in the pocket. The Bulldogs’ ferocious pass rush out of their 3-4 defensive scheme forced Mauk out of the pocket more times than not and the sophomore quarterback didn’t respond well. He threw four interceptions.
Georgia’s 34-0 victory puts the Bulldogs in the SEC driver’s seat for a trip to Atlanta.
The Bulldogs are now 5-1 on the season and Missouri moves to 4-2.
