Heading into the 2019 season, there’s been some legitimate debate as to whether Georgia’s Jake Fromm or Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa is the best quarterback in the SEC.

Tagovailoa was a Heisman finalist last year, but Fromm has plenty of accolades in his past, too. This year will be a big one for both quarterbacks.

This week, Lindy’s Sports released their annual preseason magazine, and one anonymous SEC coach said he’d pick Fromm over any other quarterback in the conference (via 247Sports):

“I really like Jake Fromm,” the coach said. “He’s an NFL-style quarterback; cerebral; can run better than people think; very accurate thrower. If you gave me one quarterback in this league to pick, he’d be the guy. … He makes some bad throws and he has struggled picking up different coverages, but he’s talented.”

Fromm has had a stellar running game the past two seasons, and Georgia should have a good ground attack again this year, so that is certainly a factor in his success.

However, he could end up being a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft if he shows he’s even better in 2019 than he was last year.
