Former Georgia wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell made a big impression on comedian/talk show host Steve Harvey.

In April, Mitchell appeared on Harvey’s talk show to speak about writing children’s books and a love of reading. Mitchell’s book, “The Magician’s Hat,” remains available for sale on the player’s website.

On Wednesday, Harvey revisited his conversation with Mitchell and offered high praise at the Regions Tradition Pro-Am.

“That young man is going to be major in life,” Harvey told the Athens Banner-Herald. “Well beyond football. He will be major in life. You can be successful but he’s going to be great.”

Mitchell has proven himself to be well-rounded. In addition to being a published author, he had a career-high 865 yards receiving with five touchdowns last year with the Bulldogs. The New England Patriots took him in the fourth round, No. 112 overall, in the NFL draft in April.
