The Georgia Bulldogs are going all in on their efforts to flip four-star CB Jamyest Williams from South Carolina, and it’s a true team effort – involving those who haven’t officially joined the team yet.

Fellow four-star CB William Poole III has reached out to Williams volunteering to let the Grayson (Loganville, Ga.) product wear No. 1 on his jersey, something Poole, who committed on April 16, appears to have previously claimed.

Fans who follow recruiting often worry that highly rated players at the same position – cornerback in the case of Poole and Williams – will scare each other away from a team. It’s clear that Poole is already thinking about what’s best for Georgia even before he arrives in Athens.

Williams has announced he will be taking an official visit to UGA, but South Carolina will get his final visit before signing day. Georgia and South Carolina will be the only schools he visits. Williams is the Gamecocks’ highest-rated commit on the 247Sports Composite. The service ranks him the No. 54 overall recruit, No. 6 cornerback and No. 6 prospect in Georgia.
