Good news to report regarding former Southern receiver Devon Gales, as the young man is up and walking with the assistant of therapy specialists less than two years after his spinal injury suffered in Sanford Stadium. Gales broke his sixth cervical vertebra after colliding with Bulldogs kicker Marshall Morgan on Sept. 26, 2015.

Following the devastating injury, Gales has refused to give in and has shown steady progress in his efforts to regain his ability to walk. Since the accident, Gales and his family have developed a tight bond with the University of Georgia following several acts of generosity and fundraising on Gales’ behalf led by the school.

In March, Gales even attended Morgan’s wedding, posting pictures from the event online.

Now comes this video Thursday, posted by Gales showing off his latest sign of progress.

Keep fighting and working hard Devon, not only is Georgia behind you but all of the Southeastern Conference is rooting for a happy ending to this story.
