Georgia DB Maurice Smith, a graduate transfer from Alabama, hasn’t been with the Bulldogs long.

However, after making the start in Saturday’s win over North Carolina, the senior said he felt comfortable with the playbook thanks to the fact that he’s playing for his old defensive coordinator:

According to the Gridiron Now article, Smith said it was a hectic end to fall camp as he scrambled to learn as much of the playbook as he could:

“It was a grind,” Smith said. “I had to come up here with a limited amount of time to get on the field and I really had to study the playbook. But in the end, I did what I did and the coaches gave me a good chance. I just appreciate it.”

Georgia returns to the field this Saturday in Athens for a game against Nicholls State.
