It’s no secret that the Georgia offensive line has been the Bulldogs’ weak link this season.

LT Tyler Catalina, a transfer from Rhode Island, has struggled, especially against SEC defensive ends like Mizzou’s Charles Harris and Ole Miss’s Marquis Haynes.

Catalina told Macon.com that SEC rosters have a lot more talent from top to bottom than what he’s used to:

“Speed, power and rotation. Depth. They got guys rotating every three or four plays,” Catalina said. “They’re coming in fresh and they’re just as good as the ones.”

After a strong Week 1 against North Carolina, the Bulldogs’ running attack has been non-existent in recent weeks, which Catalina says is due to sloppy offensive-line play:

“That’s obviously on the offensive line,” Catalina said. “We have to be a little more physical and be more downhill. We have to get our pads down. That’s something that we’re working every day on in practice.”

The road won’t get any easier for Catalina and the Georgia offensive line, as the Bulldogs host Derek Barnett and the Tennessee Volunteers this weekend. If the line struggles again, Georgia could fall out of contention for an SEC East title.
