Georgia inside linebacker Roquan Smith will miss the spring after having surgery on his wrist.

According to UGA Senior Associate Athletic Director of Sports Medicine Ron Courson, the rising sophomore underwent successful surgery on the wrist on Jan. 28 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Athens.

“Roquan had surgery to repair a ligament injury to his left wrist,” Courson said. “He will not participate in spring football practice. A full recovery is anticipated and he expected to fully participate in summer workouts and have no limitations when fall practice begins.”

Smith appeared in 12 games last season and finished with 20 tackles, including 1.5 for loss while playing on special teams and as a reserve on defense.
