Mike Bobo is leaving Georgia to become the head coach at Colorado State, and he’s taking a Friend with him.

Online Athens is reporting Bobo has hired Georgia offensive line coach Will Friend as his offensive coordinator at CSU. Friend is in his fourth season as the Bulldogs’ offensive line coach, and he’s spent the last two seasons as the Dawgs running game coordinator. Prior to arriving at Georgia he spent four years as the offensive line coach at UAB.

Georgia ranked 13th in the nation in rushing in 2014 and was 19th out of 128 FBS teams in sacks allowed.

Friend will coach in next week’s Belk Bowl with the Louisville Cardinals before making the move to Colorado State. Bobo will not coach in the game.

“We are so excited to have Will Friend and his family join our CSU family,” Bobo said in a CSU media release. “Coach Friend is an excellent teacher, motivator and recruiter who possesses all the values and principles that we are looking for at Colorado State.”
