Georgia WR Isaiah McKenzie has been freshman QB Jacob Eason’s favorite target this season.

The junior has recorded 38 catches for a team-leading 526 yards and six touchdowns.

Standing at only 5-foot-8 and weighing only 175 pounds, McKenzie’s small frame would seem to leave him vulnerable to injuries.

However, he told Macon.com that the Bulldogs’ strength and conditioning staff has been doing great work this season to keep him healthy and prevent injuries from occurring:

“They came in and helped me with my hamstrings, the things I needed work on,” McKenzie said. “They got me stronger, faster.”

McKenzie’s work ethic and dedication to staying healthy drew praise from RB Sony Michel:

“He’s just been working hard at being a great player overall, taking care of his body. He’s been in the training room for maintenance,” Michel said. “He works hard on the practice field. When you work hard, great things happen.”

Georgia hosts rival Georgia Tech on Saturday at noon Eastern time. The game can be seen on the SEC Network.
