Georgia fans don’t ask for too many things. They want to see 5-star freshman Jacob Eason at quarterback sooner rather than later, a return to the top of the SEC and for the program to have another blackout.

That’s why a buzz broke out among Bulldogs supporters when Georgia encouraged fans to wear black for the Nov. 9 game against Louisiana-Lafayette. After Tuesday’s practice, coach Kirby Smart commented on the blackout rumors.

“We’re probably going to wear black jerseys,” Smart said, according to a tweet by Marc Weiszer. “I just don’t know when.”

The Bulldogs first donned black uniforms in a 45-20 victory against Auburn in 2007. A year later, Georgia wore them again against Alabama but quickly fell behind 31-0 and eventually lost 41-30. The black jerseys have stayed in their boxes ever since.
