Georgia head coach Kirby Smart’s “pump-up” speech ahead of the Bulldogs’ game against Florida was simple, yet powerful.

He didn’t yell, and he didn’t exude anything out of the ordinary when he met with his team after the bye week on Monday.

“He didn’t really even discuss how the team controls its own destiny with all its goals on the table,” a report from Dawgs247 stated.

His message to the team was simple — “Stand up if you’ve beaten Florida.”

Those six words apparently struck a chord with the Bulldogs, as the report pointed out.

“It set the tone for the week,” senior tight end Jeb Blazevich said. “When you get back to work coming off the bye week, sometimes it’s hard to start. Once he said that it was time to get back in there and get to work. We’ve got a job to do.”

Only six players were able to stand. They were on the team in 2013 when the Bulldogs defeated Florida 23-20. Since then, Georgia has lost three in a row with defeats of 14 points or more in each game, the report noted.

Georgia is undefeated at 7-0 and ranked No. 3 in the nation. It is a double-digit favorite heading into this game. Still, Smart’s simple, powerful message put things in perspective.

“It was sobering. I think with so much praise going on along the outside, it was like, ‘Guys this is where we’re at. We haven’t beaten these guys.’ It was a call to action to get back to work, coming off the bye week,” Blazevich said. “Sometimes you need to get cranked up but we already did that. We came in (Sunday), had the meetings and if guys needed to, they got a left.”
