Ladd McConkey is making his presence known early in his rookie campaign.

Against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4, McConkey made an amazing catch in the back of the end zone to put the Los Angeles Chargers on the board.

Justin Herbert, facing pressure, threw a laser only where McConkey could grab it, and the receiver was able to get both feet down in bounds. That catch was McConkey’s 2nd TD of his young career.

In his first game as a pro in Week 1, McConkey caught 5 passes for 39 yards and 1 TD. In Week 2, the rookie caught 2 passes for 26 yards. In Week 3, McConkey reeled in 3 catches for 44 yards.

So far in Week 4, McConkey has 3 catches for 27 yards and 1 TD. The impressive rookie is already building chemistry with Herbert and is one of the QB’s favored targets.

McConkey is used to being a favorite target of QBs. With Georgia, McConkey caught 119 passes for 1,687 yards and 14 TDs in 39 games. McConkey’s best season came in 2022 when he caught 58 passes for 762 yards and 7 TDs.

In Athens, McConkey won 2 College Football Playoff National Championships and earned Second-team All-SEC honors in 2022. Heading into the 2024 NFL Draft, McConkey was thought of as a late 1st-round or early 2nd-round selection. The Chargers took the WR with the 34th pick.

McConkey’s Chargers are playing well against the Chiefs, jumping out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter.
