Georgia linebacker Leonard Floyd will forgo his senior season to enter the NFL Draft.

It was a decision that was expected to happen, but the university made things official with a release on its website on Thursday morning.

From that release, Bulldogs assistant coach Kevin Sherrer had this to say about Floyd:

“Leonard will be missed not just by the Dawg Nation, but by me, his teammates and the rest of the ‘Wolfpack’. We grew close over the past couple of years. I know he will be very successful in his football career.”

Floyd finished a successful career at Georgia with 74 tackles and 4.5 sacks during the 2015 season.

He was a Butkus Award finalist and led the Bulldogs with 10.5 tackles for loss.
