The Bulldogs will host a talented visitor Saturday, with 2018 QB prospect Trevor Lawrence announcing his plans to swing by Athens this weekend.

The 6-foot-6, 196-pound Cartersville, Ga. quarterback is rated as the No. 1 recruit of the ’18 class by 247Sports, also making him the top signal-caller and the highest-rated Peach State prospect of the class. Tennessee is the current favorite to sign Lawrence, receiving 70 percent of 247Sports’ Crystal Ball predictions, but a lot can change between now and February 2018.

New offensive coordinator Jim Chaney is listed as UGA’s primary recruiter of Lawrence. Chaney’s resume as an offensive guru is credited with helping keep Jacob Eason, the top quarterback of the ’16 class, committed to Georgia following the departure of Mark Richt.

Though he’ll only be a junior this fall, Lawrence has created quite the highlight tape already.
