Georgia running back Nick Chubb was absent from practice Monday after experiencing an ankle injury in Week 3 against Ole Miss.

Head coach Kirby Smart said Chubb will continue to rehab through the week before the Bulldogs have a definitive answer on his status for their upcoming game against Tennessee.

Chubb leads Georgia with 422 yards — fourth among SEC backs — and four touchdowns on 83 rushing attempts. The junior bounced back from a knee injury suffered during last year’s game against Tennessee, which forced him to miss the Bulldogs’ final seven games.

The junior led Georgia with 1,547 yards and 14 touchdowns on 219 in 2014, which was the fourth highest single-season rushing total in school history behind all three of Herschel Walker’s seasons from 1980-82.
