Todd Gurley put on a show Saturday night against Clemson.  After just four carries in the first half, the Georgia coaches fed the Heisman candidate the rock plenty in the second half and he went off.

It was a back-and-forth affair throughout the first half with the ‘Dawgs heading to the locker room locked at 21 with Clemson.  Georgia would take over in the second half en route to a

Here are a couple of thoughts on the game:

What it means: Georgia had lost its last three marquee openers against Power Five opponents dating back to 2009, but an impressive display Saturday night against Clemson gave the ‘Dawgs a huge win that will lead into a bye week and a date with South Carolina in two weeks.  Even more impressive was the way the Bulldogs won.  After a very even first half with Clemson, Georgia turned it on in the second half and dominated in what would be a run-away victory.  Credit Jeremy Pruitt, he and his defensive staff made some incredible halftime adjustments and had their way with Clemson during the second 30 minutes.

What I liked: Halftime adjustments.  It looked as if the Georgia defense of 2013 would be the one Bulldog fans had to deal with this season, but after surrendering 21 points in the first half, Georgia pitched a shutout in the second half and only allowed one first down.  It was an absolute dominant performance by Leonard Floyd up front, but Pruitt did a nice job of disguising looks and moving Floyd around in the second half to confuse Cole Stoudt and the Clemson offense.

Who’s the man: Todd Gurley is a fully grown man.  The junior had a career night for the ‘Dawgs, rushing for 198 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries.  Gurley also returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown in the first half.  Gurley made his touches count, which will be important for him with Georgia using three, sometimes four, backs this season.  Good luck dragging this 226-pound behemoth of a man down.

Key play: After a Clemson went up 21-14 midway through the second quarter, Gurley housed the ensuing kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown and sent a shockwave of electricity through Sanford Stadium.  That would set up an Aaron Davis interception on the very next Clemson drive that sent the momentum fully the way of the Bulldogs heading into the half.
