Deangelo Gibbs’ future at Georgia appears to be in some doubt.

The former elite defensive back recruit is reportedly not enrolled in class in Athens, a university representative confirmed to Jason Butt of The Macon Telegraph.

Gibbs was a four-star prospect in the 2017 recruiting cycle and ranked as the No. 4 safety prospect in the nation according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. Gibbs signed with Georgia over Alabama, Auburn and Tennessee. After signing with Georgia, Gibbs enrolled early in Athens and was poised to make an impact for the Bulldogs in 2018.

He made several appearances for the Dawgs early in his debut year on campus but did not see the field late in the 2017 season and did not make the team’s trip to the Rose Bowl win over Oklahoma. Considering he’s not enrolled in classes at this time, it appears Gibbs’ status with the school is up in the air heading into the start of offseason conditioning.
