Brian Herrien, a running back rated three stars by 247Sports,  has qualified academically and will be able to enroll at Georgia, according to a new report.

Jeff Sentell of DawgNation.com spoke to Herrien’s high school coach, Rob Cleveland of New Manchester.

“We found out at some time yesterday that he became academically eligible to sign a D-1 scholarship and he is going to Athens tomorrow to meet with coach (Kirby) Smart and some of the other coaches at the University of Georgia,” Cleveland said Friday. “Unless something unforeseen happens he will sign a full scholarship with the University of Georgia tomorrow. They are going to go over that transcript one final time. I have been told he is going to get offered tomorrow and he is going to sign tomorrow.”

Sentell notes that Herrien needed to make three As in core courses and score at least a 16 on his ACT to qualify. Herrien made the grades and scored an 18.

Herrien is not completely in the clear yet, his final grades will become official Monday morning and then sent to the NCAA Clearinghouse for approval.

Since Georgia did not sign the maximum number of prospects in February, Herrien will be added to the 2016 recruiting class as the 21st signee.
