Star running back Todd Gurley underwent surgery on his torn ACL on Tuesday and according to the University of Georgia, the surgery was a success.

Gurley previously missed four games for a violation of NCAA rules and returned back to action against the Auburn Tigers back on Nov. 15.

Unfortunately for the standout junior, he injured his ACL late in the fourth quarter when the game was already in hand for the Bulldogs.

He was diagnosed the following day with a torn ACL, effectively ending his season.

UGA’s Director of Sports Medicine also announced that Gurley began the rehabilitation process on Wednesday. His ACL injury not only ended his junior season, but likely his UGA career as Gurley is expected to declare for the NFL Draft in the spring.
