Jared Walsh was a pitcher and first baseman who played for the Georgia Bulldogs from 2012 to 2015. Now, he’s a big leaguer with the Los Angeles Angels.

Entering Saturday night’s game against the Texas Rangers, Walsh had yet to record an RBI, but did have three hits in his first nine at-bats.

On Saturday night, he got his first RBI, and it came in a clutch situation. As you can see below, his bloop single to left field in the bottom of the ninth gave the Angels the victory:

That’s certainly a moment Walsh will remember forever, as first RBI don’t get much better than that.

He’s hitting .400 in his first 10 at-bats now, so clearly he’s proving his worth in Los Angeles. Now, we’ll see if he can continue to play his way into a larger role.
