Georgia may not have won the National Championship Game this week but they did win a National Semifinal game in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day. Apparently, the trip out to Los Angeles left an impression on some power players in Hollywood.

During a recent episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the show’s host opened his monologue on the epic title game between Alabama and Georgia. After showing the Georgia fan that destroyed his door in outrage after the heartbreaking outcome, Kimmel shared his newfound fondness for UGA kicker Rodrigo Blankenship.

“This player was my favorite last night. The Bulldogs’ kicker, Rodrigo Blankenship. They call him Hotrod. I like everything about this guy,” Kimmel said.

“He’s got a great strategy, you can’t hit a guy wearing glasses.”

Blankenship recently tweeted out his gratitude to Kimmel for the mention. That had to be a cool moment for one of the SEC’s best kickers.
