Here are five takeaways from Kentucky’s 63-31 loss to No. 20 Georgia.

1. Kentucky continues its struggles against the run. The Wildcats entered Saturday’s game as the No. 94 overall rush defense in the FBS. Facing a run-heavy Georgia offense, Kentucky’s struggles continued, allowing 305 yards and two touchdowns on 39 carries. Nick Chubb dominated with 170 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.

2. Patrick Towles is regressing. Towles threw for 139 yards, a touchdown and an interception on 16-of-31 passing, while adding 60 rushing yards and a touchdown on 17 attempts. Several weeks after his best career performance, the redshirt sophomore looks like he’s regressing in his development after two consecutive disappointing starts.

3. Stanley “Boom” Williams continues his progression. Williams made his first official start last week. After a forgettable performance, the former four-star tailback rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries. Williams’ 56-yard run was Kentucky’s the top highlight of Saturday’s game. The true freshman should continue his progress and become a solid SEC tailback.

4. Early start was a product of easy matchups. Kentucky’s 5-1 start seems like an afterthought after its four-game losing streak. The Wildcats benefited from several lackluster matchups before facing LSU, Mississippi State, Missouri and Georgia. Kentucky has been exposed facing tough competition and has been overmatched in recent weeks.

5. Kentucky is not a bowl team. Kentucky does not look like a bowl team. The Wildcats have young talent and should improve, but aren’t built to compete against tough SEC competition. Kentucky is winless on the road and should struggle at Tennessee next week.
