Injured Kentucky running back Stanley “Boom” Williams could return to the field in the next few days.

Jen Smith of the Lexington Herald-Leader tweeted that Williams’ elbow has improved considerably over the past few days, and his status could be day-to-day.

On Monday, Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops said that Williams would not play against Georgia on Saturday. Williams was not listed on the Wildcats’ depth chart.

Williams suffered an elbow injury during Kentucky’s 52-21 loss to Tennessee last Saturday. The injury happened when he landed on the elbow while being tackled on a carry in the second quarter.

The sophomore from Monroe, Ga. has rushed for 563 yards and three touchdowns this season for the Wildcats.
