Kentucky 2015 defensive tackle signee headed to JUCO

Kentucky 2015 signee Javon Provitt, a potential early-impact defensive tackle, is heading to the JUCO ranks the Lexington Herald Leader reported Thursday.

UK defensive tackle signee Javon Provitt just confirmed to me that he has decided to go to Lackawanna Junior College (Pa.) next season.

Javon Provitt told me UK’s coaches are on board with his juco move. He plans to be there a year and a half and enroll at UK in Jan. 2017.

Provitt, a 6-foot-3, 300-pound run stopper from Ohio, will attend Lackawanna Junior College in the fall. He picked Kentucky over Cincinnati and Purdue.

The Wildcats expected Provitt to provide depth up front along a defensive line forced to replace two premiere pass rushers off last season’s team.
