These days, it makes a ton of sense for college players to declare for the NBA Draft and go through the evaluation process, and boy, are players taking advantage of it.

You can withdraw and return to school any time before May 29, so it’s no surprise that dozens of SEC players have declared so far.

On Monday, Kentucky F Nick Richards became the latest to enter his name in the draft pool, announcing his decision via Twitter on Monday:

Richards started all 37 games for the Wildcats as a freshman in 2017-18. He played in all 37 games this year, but only made three starts. He averaged 3.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game.

While it seems likely that he returns to Kentucky, it makes sense for him to go get evaluated by NBA scouts.
