Kentucky LB De’Niro Laster will be ending his college football career elsewhere.

A UK spokesman told The Courier-Journal’s Jon Hale that Laster will use the opportunity to transfer after graduating at Kentucky. Laster, who transferred to the Wildcats from Minnesota, tallied 14 tackles in five games at Kentucky before suffering a season-ending knee injury.

With Laster off the roster, Kentucky faces potential depth issues at outside linebacker this spring. That problem will get better when signees Alex King, Joshua Paschal and Jordan Wright enroll in the summer.

Wildcats fans can expect more transfers. Hale notes that Kentucky is currently at 71 scholarships with 17 signees who have not yet enrolled. The NCAA limit for players on scholarship is 85, meaning coach Mark Stoops still needs to free up three more scholarships.
